Dribble

★★★★★
VenueUnderbelly, George Square
Date Seen6 August 2026

Dribble tells the story of Brazilians whose lives intersect through football and music, treating football as something that runs between people and lives, making them bearable and beautiful. It is an experimental, playful piece that moves through history, individual stories, parties and music while exploring the crossover between Brazilian and Scottish culture.

The theatrical energy is extraordinary from the beginning. Musicians appear while the audience is still queuing outside and lead everyone into the venue. Once inside, the audience are given drinks and food, and that welcoming feeling of participation continues. The production understands that the subject is not simply football but the social world around it: memory, ritual, celebration and connection.

It is frantic, fun and genuinely generous. This warm welcoming troupe create a fantastic energy and atmosphere that never lets up, while the form comes to life with its subject. Outstanding.

Runs 5–16 August, 18–23 August and 25–31 August at 11:15am.
